And when the rains came we retreated to the abandoned shed barely standing at the edge of the run down city. He'd hang up our clothes around the propane lamp we stole and he made a blanket of a dirty curtain. I slept but he did not. The terrors lay just before him and he was frightened. We would be discovered by morning and he wept.

Daily DeviationThere once was a time when all manga art was colored in marker, a time before everyone got overly-complex with digital paint. Sonata for the fallen by *strangledcry makes me nostalgic for that time. Simple? Yes. But sometimes simplicity can yield far more beauty than all the detailing and photoshop tricks in the world. The smooth and simple lines, the finely crafted yet unobstrusive coloring, all with the mood of the portrayed scene hanging over it and drawing you in.
